Day Care Health/Child Care Health Consultation
Our Child Care Health Nurse Consultant, working with Missoula’s Child Care Resources and local child care providers, offers technical assistance and guidance regarding health and safety issues for children at child care sites.
The nurse visits child care sites to address concerns such as when children should be excluded from child care due to illness, and provides information regarding hygiene and illness/injury prevention. She frequently consults on developmental and behavioral issues, provides health screening and referrals to outside agencies, and reviews immunization records for compliance with state laws. She is available by phone for assistance.
The nurse collaborates with Missoula’s Child Care Resources in providing child care providers orientation, on-going training in health and safety issues and develops on-line educational curriculum for child care providers.
