Missoula County Public Works COVID-19 Procedures & Details

Missoula County Public Works is complying with the requirements of the Governor’s Executive Orders and the Missoula City-County Health Department’s Orders in regard to inspections and office procedures.

Public Works inspectors will be wearing a face covering during inspections unless they have requested an accommodation as allowed under the State and Local Orders.  For additional protection of both the inspector and the homeowner, we ask that homeowners present during inspections wear face coverings and maintain 6ft distance for the duration of the inspection. To limit the inspector’s time inside the home, discussions between the inspector and the homeowner will be held outside or via phone. Public Works strongly encourages on-site homeowners and contractors wear appropriate PPE during the inspection and follow social distancing guidelines. If you have any concerns, please call the Building Division in advance at 406.258.3701.

 CC Fees

During the pandemic, Missoula County has been waiving credit card transaction fees, which will be reimbursed with CARES Act funding. There is no guarantee of continued reimbursement and Missoula County cannot sustain covering credit card transaction fees.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 1, if you process a payment via credit card you will be responsible for the associated transaction fee. This impacts transactions with the Treasurer’s Office, Public Works, and Community and Planning Services.
If you would like to pay online with an electronic check (funds withdrawn from a checking/savings account), Missoula County will waive the $1 transaction fee.
Thank you for your understanding as we all adjust to business impacted by the pandemic.
